Description: This is a small reflection (2 full pages) that seeks to connect the past with the present. To complete this reflection, you will first have to choose two different pieces of culture (i.e. a painting, a sculpture, a speech, a novel, a play, a poem, a film, etc.) with one piece being from an earlier time period (i.e. Stone Age to 1950) and the other being contemporary (i.e. within the last 20 years). Then you will use the first page to compare/contrast by side by side listing the major similarities and differences of the pieces (Note: This should be done in bullet list form or table form). Finally, you will use the second page to write an analysis of where you see connections and how the older art remains significant to today.

Does it go beyond surface detail to include things like function, purpose, meaning, etc.), and the quality of the analysis. In order to achieve an average grade – “C” or better – all requirements must be followed. Failure to meet the requirements will result in severe deductions and could lead to a failing grade. As always, any written assignments qualifying as plagiarism will receive a zero. This assignment is worth 90 pts of the course total.
